Hi Rich, I'm working on the tune "A Smooth One." It's primarily G7, C7, F. The G7 throws me off. I know I can play F and C7. I'm sure I can play Dm. But a friend of mine to me this song is Fm. I know the major issue is that G7 has a B in it. What are your thoughts on playing thru this sequence?

Thanks William. I purchased a tune o magic from Faber. I may have to make a new base if the tune o magic is too tall. I hope to be able to switch back and forth to hear the sound difference.

Jim Rumora Funny, I think I'll hang around longer with the 175. It can be versatile from a Wes kind of tone to a Kenny Burrell kind of tone with pickup mix and amp settings. I'm going to try a Tune O Matic to see what that will sound like. As you can tell, I am addicted to sound.

Does anyone know the sound difference between a wooden bridge and a tune-amatic on a Gibson ES 175? I am interested in getting an L4 sound out of my 175. I'm tempted to add a little bridge pickup into the mix.

James Champlin I use Xvive also. They're inexpensive and work great. The other benefit of wireless is that it doesn't matter how far away the amp is in the open jam room.

I use wireless. I can keep it all set up when I put the guitar away. Easy to move between different guitars and different amps. Plus, I think it gives  little extra boost.
