It's 'Truss rod adjustment' season here in Southern Oregon. We went from one of the driest summers on record to multiple days of 1in or more rain.  No point in putting the cover back because the report is for warm dry weather next week. How's all your instruments holding up with the changing of the seasons?

So here's a 12bar jazz blues I wrote out a bass line and chord stabs for.  Here's a recording: https://drive.proton.me/urls/ZKBE1S8ES0#s3zY9zVIB1CFAnd here's the chart: https://drive.proton.me/urls/DZ13HZFYX8#QBlAI4nbt47S The chart is pretty clumsy. I'm using a free app called MuseScore and still figuring it out...

Jim R. Looks like a solid piece. Would love to hear a recording of you playing it.

Nice! I finished up a 12 bar blues in Bb. I"ll try to make recording and chart and put up links tomorrow.

Anyone else doing the walking bass with comping exercise that Rich asked us to at the live event?

What are you listening to?

I've been enjoying Oscar Peterson, particularly enjoy his comping and chord melody. I hear the voicings from the first lesson in Rich's fingers style course in it.. granted he has 10 fingers to make chords with (and I swear a couple toes sometimes)

Im working through that course too. It's a game changer. Keep us posted. Would love to hear how it goes for you.

this is great, thx for sharing.

How do you like the DV Mark? I'm looking for something that doesn't add any color. I love the sound of my guitar acoustically, just need that sound louder (and some reverb) when I start playing gigs.

what amp do you all like for jazz? Seems like the Henriksen Bud is the best in breed, not quite ready to shell out > 1k at this point though. My tube amp sounds great, but too heavy to haul around. Maybe one of the Quilter power blocks and a small cab?
