The Dexterity Builders Series lays the groundwork to help you build better chops, dexterity and strength to improve your playing. A football player doesn’t perform weight lifting and exercise drills during a game but these preliminary activities build the skill and strength he uses on the playing field. In the same way by mastering scale patterns up and down the neck you will become comfortable with the patterns and develop the ability to create music by using scales. These are also good exercises to work on quietly while watching TV to create "Finger Memory." Once mastered you can continue these exercises for a few minutes daily to maintain your dexterity level.

Dexterity Builder Start Up Lesson concentrates on picking technique, playing chromatically through the keys and around the cycle of 4ths with the E shape major scale pattern.
Dexterity Builder Lesson #1 usesone octave scale patterns around the cycle of 4ths. Important to the development of all of the one octave scale patterns and also develops alternate picking technique.
Dexterity Builder Lesson #2 uses a unique sequence to improve confidence playing one octave shapes. Play the sequence around the cycle of 4ths in a higher register than exercise #1.
Dexterity Builder Lesson #3 uses octave major scales around the cycle of 4ths incorporating many different major scale patterns. Practice daily and to memorized the major scale patterns .
